Production Diary #39

Now finishing all of my task I am extremely happy with the result. Having a few little touches added to my music video and exporting it on a higher quality I have found that vimeo HD displays my work as how I wanted. You can see that all my texts link up and come together as one as I have specifically created it for that.

Final Digipack

SPECIAL SINGLE ALBUM COVER
As you can see I have completed my final digipack and am very happy with the final product, as well as this I have also created and added my own special front cover for my music video it's self. Released as a single, they usually differ in front covers to make it special and stand out, as I want to add something extra to my whole music video package and combine my texts together, I thought that it was a good idea to make this just to sum up everything. It relates heavily to my music video as the front cover is bold and eye catching, filled with screen grabs from the actual music video. It comes with a special hard copy on the CD as you can actually watch the music video on this special single release.

Production Diary #38

After some very hard thinking and feedback from my teachers and close target audience I have relaised that the colour theme I had of purple was not working out, as well as me being unhappy with it I had now changed everything to a blue colour theme. Closely asking my peers for advice on this they then told me it was much stronger and appealed largely. As the purple colour felt too girly, the blue really did keep the same feel and themes I wanted to explore but in a more masculine style, it having boyish connotations.

Proud of what I can now call my final piece, I can say that I have put more effort into my final print sections as I am fully happy with it. Not changing much to the poster but the colour, I have kept the Alone Tonight typography consistent within each text so now they are more linked and relatable. As with my digipack, I have actually created what will be on the CD as it is now stronger and stable.

Production Diary #37

Deciding to post a few of the tour diary videos which the band have made on my blog was to show their close interaction they have with their fans, showing them bits and bobs off tour which will help them paint a better picture for my music video.
This gives my audience more of an insight to the band and what they are like and also by providing entertainment. Just three short videos which are packed with a tour lifestyle conform to an additional elements which is found in the pop punk genre.

Production Diary #36

With the final feedback that I have got from my target audience, I am very pleased with the progress I have made. Already taking this into account, I have now added these minor details within my music video to further strengthen it and make it appealing for my audience. With the help of my friend, I managed to colour correct the video, making a distinguish between their tour life and off tour life, for my genre to be fully explored. I will soon be uploading my final music video shortly.

As with some of the original footage I had, I have decided to make a Bloopers which is kind of like a tour diary style video however it's just random footage which I found funny which would add and show the whole band tour lifestyle.

Feedback on final music video draft

Last week in lesson we each showed everyone our music video and explained what genre it was and also asked them a few questions about it. This was a perfect opportunity to see what my other class mates have done and what they thought about my final draft in order for me to improve for my draft. I got a lot of positive feedback which were all 4's the top mark you could give, very happy with this It made me realise that my video only needed minor changes as it was already to a high standard.

The only thing I did notice was that people were not aware that my video was not meant to be lip synced as this was the top comment, there are also parts in which I would need to change such as the people at the start, looking rather bored. These adjustments are simple and easy for me to change which wasn't as bad however the idea that of the tour diary video style needs to be more clear.

This maybe to the lack of their knowledge in seeing these kinds of videos as they are aimed at a hardcore/ pop punk genre which is niche.

I also recorded some other feedback when I asked them questions on it right after I had shown them my music video, you can find it below.

Bloopers

Because I had so much footage and some of it with sound, I thought to make a bloopers which was in a style of a kind of tour diary. This is common with most music videos in my genre as they would already have tour diaries I wanted to make something of my own.
From the first day of tour I managed to get a lot of out side shots with them chilling out before the gig which showed off their laid back side. It was really fun to film and I really enjoyed filming with them as they provided to be very entertaining to watch.

I played around with adobe a little bit and found out how to make a title with words appearing on screen and then using the video transitions, I could then adjust this for each scene. Also playing around with the transitions, I found many different ways of skipping to the next scene but chose to stick to the basic cuts and fades.
